For the front, I sewed together 36 little squares of sunshine and then darned in all the ends (phew...what a job). I also added two rows of double crochet to finish off the edge neatly.
From a distance you can not even tell that it is many little squares sewn together, which then seems to surprise people when they look at it closer. And making this out of cotton, has made for a very sturdy piece of crocheted fabric.
I decided on what to do for the back based on the amounts of yarn that I have left. I would have loved to do the entire back in the yellow-white variegated yarn, but am sure I would run out so I decided to do a stripe of the variegated followed by a stripe of white. So far so good...
This looks so awesome! You've inspired me to learn to crochet, and so far I've learned the single stitch. It's addicting!ReplyDelete

What a neat job you did in sewing those little squares together. It definitely is not my forte.... love the colour. Its going to be beautiful!!ReplyDelete
Thank you Rose. It was very time consuming sewing all the squares together and even more so sewing in all the ends, but so worth it.Delete
Loving your Sunshine Pillow! I need to make one for my little Grand Daughter. I'm always telling her that she's my Sunshine. I found your blog from Daisy Cottage Designs Off the Hook Link Party. I am now a follower of yours. Happy Day to you. :0)ReplyDelete
