42/52

"A portrait of my girls, once a week, every week, in 2015."

Snow on the ground in the middle of October brought a lot of excitement to our morning.

Claire: "Mom, don't freak out, but I just looked out the window and there is snow on the ground!"

Bridget: "It's not even winter, how can there be snow!"

Joining in with Jodi for the 52 Week Project.

  1. Wow snow in October! We barely get it in December!! The girls look very happy to see it and show it off though :)

    1. The snow definitely came early this year; I hope that is not a sign of things to come. It is exciting to see the seasons change.

  2. My kids were abuzz with the snow this weekend too - "look Mom it's on the grass, and the trees, look Mom it's on the car!!" their excitement makes me a lot happier for the snow than I otherwise would be!

    1. Oh I agree Kristina. I would hibernate all winter long if I could, but the girls' excitement about the snow does get me out a bit more.

  3. I was just emailing a friend in Australia saying the only thing I wished for in my area (coastal BC) was snow in the winter. Lovely photo of your two beautiful little ladies.

  4. Exciting! I live very near the base of Mt. Hood near Portland, Oregon. Mt. Hood has at least a little snow on it year round, but it has gotten a little fresh snow recently, much to my delight. I lived in Massachusetts, Missouri, Colorado, and NY...all places I had to shovel snow. While it is good exercise, I consider it a treat to live where I do now. I rarely have had to shovel snow, but if I want to play in it I only have to drive about 35 minutes to Mt. Hood! I am happy for your daughters and their delight in welcoming the first snow of the season. xx

    1. My girls certainly delight in the snow, especially when we have lots of it. Last year there was a lot of snow...it got to the point where we had no where to put it anymore as the snowbanks on either side of the driveway were as high as the cars. Needless to say, shoveling is just part of life here...
